While Europe doesn’t exactly come to mind as a budget travel destination, it sure can be if you put your mind to it. After graduating from college I backpacked around Europe for several months and, flights included, spent around $3,000 (US). I did this by volunteering on organic farms, couchsurfing, hitch hiking, and utilizing the power of the night bus.
I also have a particularly soft spot for Scotland, having studied abroad there. But every country in Europe is a little different, with history, food, culture, architecture, and nightlife all its own! I’m excited to continue to explore the continent, and to find sneaky little ways to ball on a budget in Europe.
